The green alternative to road salt.

3x more efficient than road salt. And effective down to -40 °C.

In Germany alone, up to 4 million tons of road salt are used every year.

The use of road salt is always a compromise between the necessary road safety and the resulting ecological and economic consequences. According to the Federal Environment Agency, an average of 1.5 million tons of road salt is spread in Germany alone. In harsh winters, the amount can rise to over 4 million tons.

MeltMeister – the environmentally friendly snow and de-icing granulate.

Many conventional gritting solutions such as sodium chloride (NaCl), calcium chloride (CaCl) or urea (CH₄N₂O) as well as so-called blunting agents such as sand, grit or gravel often do not achieve the desired effect, especially at very low temperatures – not to mention some unpleasant effects on people, animals, plants, bodies of water, buildings and vehicles. Opt for the winter gritting granulate of the future with MeltMeister: environmentally friendly. High-yield. Highly effective.

The latest generation of gritting agent

Ecologically harmless

Plant damage caused by road salt is particularly visible in cities, where hedges, trees and shrubs often border directly on roads and footpaths. With MeltMeister, this damage is a thing of the past. The main component of our grit granules is the substance calcium magnesium acetate (CMA). In contrast to conventional road salt made from sodium chloride, CMA has no harmful effect on plant life. The substances calcium and magnesium that remain when CMA decomposes are not a danger to groundwater and even have a fertilizing effect on plants.

Also safe for animals

Cat and dog owners know this: Animals also suffer from the use of conventional road salt. Contact with winter grit, for example when walking, attacks the cornea on the paws, which can lead to painful inflammation. Licking the salt off their paws and fur can also lead to digestive problems. The use of MeltMeister as a de-icing agent is a real treat for our four-legged friends.

No damage to cars and buildings

Conventional frost and de-icing agents may be cheaper to buy, but they cause a lot of economic damage. For example, road salt promotes corrosion on bridges and vehicles, it damages road surfaces, mechanical systems such as automatic sliding doors and sensitive buildings such as old walls and monuments or marble floors in entrance halls. Winter after winter, damage amounting to billions is caused that could easily be avoided with MeltMeister.

Highly effective: up to 72 hours, down to -40 °C

On particularly snowy or cold days, road salt often has to be gritted after just a few hours. With MeltMeister, on the other hand, the effect lasts up to 72 hours. There are also significant differences in temperature: While ordinary road salt is particularly effective at temperatures below -8 °C, MeltMeister can also be used at temperatures down to -40 °C.

Patented manufacturing process

MeltMeister is the result of numerous researches and studies over a period of about 10 years. The exact recipe is secret, the granulation process is patented. In addition to the main ingredient calcium magnesium acetate (CMA), the granules consist of calcium magnesium chloride, supported by blue hybrid crystals, which are formed in reactors and coated with rock crystal salt in various reaction stages. The product composition includes calcium, magnesium, acetate + calcium, magnesium chloride + sodium chloride and corrosion inhibitor (CMA + CaMaCl₂ + NaCl₂). MeltMeister has been certified by TÜV Süd.

Effective for up to 72 hours

Conventional road salt has the property of completely liquefying snow and ice and combining with the snow water. Especially on slopes, the salt runs off together with the snow water and the ground is unprotected. MeltMeister penetrates the ice layer, melts vertically and horizontally within 20 minutes, sinks to the ground and creates a small gap between the ground and the ice layer. If the snow is removed or carried away by snow clearing vehicles, snow shovels, vehicles or pedestrians, the remaining granules prevent new snowflakes from sticking to the ground and new ice from forming. It can maintain this effect for up to 72 hours.

Significantly more economical than road salt

The production of MeltMeister granules is significantly more complex than that of conventional road salt and therefore around twice as expensive. On the other hand, it is up to 3 times more efficient than road salt and therefore absolutely competitive. In certain situations, MeltMeister can also be applied in combination with chippings, which further reduces costs. What’s more, the long-lasting effect means that snow clearing services and gritting vehicles have to go out less often, which saves working time and fuel.

MeltMeister is currently imported from Turkey. When stored in a dry place, MeltMeister granules can be kept for 2 years. We are currently working on relocating production to Germany in order to reduce transportation costs for you and to be able to meet the exploding demand on the German market.

Highly interesting for municipalities and companies

MeltMeister is interesting for anyone who wants to clear large areas of snow and ice. So cities and municipalities, companies with large employee parking lots, operators of lift systems, hospitals, schools and universities, shopping centers, gas stations, sports stadiums, and, and, and. MeltMeister is also used in water tanks with extinguishing water to prevent the water from freezing. On large roof surfaces, MeltMeister protects against heavy snow loads.
